Gloria P. Porter “Doll” , age 97 of Waterville, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2023 in the Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Martin’s River, she was the daughter of Walter and Hattie Eisnor.

Doll was known throughout the Valley and beyond for her talent of cooking, which was used to own and operate various resturant businesses. She started at her small take-out shop in Waterville Corner, then went on to the Red and White in Coldbrook, which is now Foodland.  From there Doll went on to run Hilchie’s Seafood and Take-Out in Coldbrook for her great friend, George Hilchie. After this she proceeded to open up Doll’s Diner, which was a very successful diner that was well known around all parts of the Valley.

“She will be missed dearly, as she was the kindest person one could ever meet.”

Doll will be remembered by her many nieces and nephews; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, Doll was predeceased by her husband, Bob Porter; brothers, Lester, Bordon, and Raymond; sisters, Nerveline, Thelma, and Constance.

Cremation has taken place, and interment will take place at a later date.  Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
