Obituary of Terry Mae Tanner

Terry Mae Tanner, age 66 of Halifax, passed away on December 19, 2023, in the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Berwick, she was the daughter of Murray Tanner and the late Helen  (Arenburg) Tanner.

Terry worked as a nurse and as a in-home caregiver before turning her attention to being a full time Mom. She loved spending time at Miner’s Marsh walking with her daughter, Krystal. Terry would then spend hours with Emily having coffee at MacDonald’s, playing board games, or having endless phone chats (even when they lived together).

Terry was a big fan of World Wresting Entertainment (WWE). She  often watched either the WWE or General Hospital on the television while she crocheted the blankets that her daughters will cherish forever.

Terry is remembered by her daughters, Krystal of Port Williams, and  Emily of Halifax; father, Murray Tanner of Wolfville; sisters, Tanya Hoyt of Sunken Lake, Mary (Jeff) Long of Sunken Lake, and Lisa Tanner of Grand Pre; brother, Matt Tanner of New Minas; many nieces and nephews; as well as many grandnephews and grandnieces. She also leaves behind her fur child, Squint; and fur grandchildren, Phoebe, Stella, Rain, Presley, Freckles, and Maggie.

In addition to her mother, Terry was predeceased by her brother, Gilbert.

"She will be missed dearly by all. She lived life to the beat of her own drum."

A Private Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2023, at 1:00 pm. in the Willowbank Cemetery, Wolfville, if weather conditions are poor the Private Service will be held in the Randall House Museum. A reception for family and friends will follow the Service in the Randall House Museum, 259 Main St., Wolfville. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Kings SPCA.
