Ernest Franklyn Dill Obituary

Ernest “Ernie” Franklyn Dill, age 80 of Berwick, passed away on December 28, 2023, in his New Visions home, after a battle with cancer. Born in Woodside, Kings County, he was the son of the late Frank and Effie (Lenihan) Dill.


Growing up on a small family farm, Ernie grew vegetables and sold them. He also picked apples in the fall and worked at construction. He worked in cars doing mechanical and body work. Ernie’s hobbies were fixing small farm equipment such as lawnmowers and rotortillers, as well as televisions and radios. After moving to New Visions, Ernie’s favorite thing was going out to eat fish and chips, and ice cream.


Ernie is survived by brothers, Walter, Hamilton, ON; Allen (Nancy), Springhill; and Ronald (Karen), Canning.


In addition to his parents, Ernie was precdeceased by sisters, Francis, Marguerite, Bessie, and Elsie; brothers, Cecil, Carl, Charles, Donald, Harvey, Reginald “Johnny”, and Franklyn “Sanky” Dill.


A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 1:00 pm  in the Serenity Funeral Home, Coldbrook. Internment will take place at a later date in the Jawbone Cemetery, Hillaton. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Diabetes Canada. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
