I had not had the chance to work with him, however Les would visit SNC the last couple years and always bring something special for us girls in the office, whether it be chocolate during the Holidays or Pansy's in the Spring. Les was an incredible person so very thoughtful and generous with his kindness, he will be missed.
My condolences to his family.
Take care
Candace Bell

I recall Les from back in the day when many of us hung out at the Three Gee's party house on Kelly Drive in Woodlawn Dartmouth. There were some times had there with Grant Benjamin, George Keddy and Glen Walker - other offshore guys and many others darkened those doors in the heady busy late 70's and early 80's... I've got a pic of Les surveying the aftermath of a Christmas party "scene" between Allan Moore and Tommy Pellerin - judges are still out on that one lol. I remember his little brother Tony from PAHS as well. Les was a few years older than me and hung with a lot of DHS guys that I hung with. My condolences go to his friends and family.

My heart is sad… sending sympathy and love to Les’s family.
As little kids we played and celebrated neighborhood birthdays and by high school we hung out in ‘the garage’. We had a tight knit, wonderful ‘neighbourhood family’ and saw each other through many things. I remember Les more like a big brother. So nice to read Les’s career accomplishments - he was always the strong, quiet, smart and unassuming guy. And he had the best laugh.
His obituary is a beautiful tribute to his life and love of family. Rest in Peace Les! And to your family, I cherish every childhood memory and send my love to you all.

My condolences to the Family. Les was a great shipmate and friend. Always had the best interests of Quest in mind. I admired Les for his drive to become a Chief Engineer, not a small accomplishment. Will surely be missed.

My sincerest condolences,
Remembering Les from when he was just starting on Quest as a young oiler, I was never so pleased as when he was able to don a white shirt and shoulder boards and join us in the wardroom. As I reached the end of my sea going career it did my heart good to see him take his place as Quest's chief engineer. He was a great shipmate.

Our sympathy and hearts are toward you, Kim , Allison, Matthew and family.
Living on the same street for many years while our children Cassandra and Brad grew up with Allison and Matthew.
We remember Les as a kind quiet man who was a loving father often outside with his kids, watching them on their bikes or throwing a ball.
Enjoying them playing while he puttered in the yard.
Whenever we saw him with his kids his face was always bright and smiling.
He is remembered fondly.

With heartfelt sympathy; thinking of you Allison, Matthew and Kim and wishing you all courage to help see you through day by day. I am praying that your memories will warm your heart and bring you comfort. Memories that span the years shared, preserving ties that bind, building a bridge of love and hopefully bring you peace of mind and help soothe your grieving heart. He will be forever missed; his kindness and willingness to always help, his sense of right and a life well lived is a lasting inspiration. No one has the the perfect words to make you sadness and broken heart go away, however, knowing how many people wish they did bring you some comfort.

So sorry to hear this. My memories of Les are only with fondness. His kindness and care of my Mom and the pride and love he had for his children made him one of the most wonderful men I had the pleasure of knowing. The world has lost a beautiful soul. Sending love and hugs Allison and Matthew.
