Obituary of Gladys Angela Coldwell

Gladys Angela (Corcoran) Coldwell, of Avonport, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2024, with her family by her side. Born in Canaan, Kings County on August 7, 1926, she was the only daughter of late Harry and Jenny Corcoran.

Gladys was a lady of many talents. She was the owner of a hairdressing business, secretary at an insurance firm, and manager of a dress shop before retiring to grow apples and garden with her husband, Dave, in Avonport.

Gladys will be remembered by her son, Bernard (Esther) Webster; grandson, Darcy (Tomoka) Webster; great-grandchildren, Keiden and Monika Webster of British Columbia; Darren (Brian) Webster of Ottawa; and Mike Webster of Kentville; brother, Angus (Betty) Corcoran of Canaan; nephews, Kevin Corcoran of Canaan, and Keith (Cheryl) Corcoran of Bridgewater; special niece Mary Corcoran of Cambridge; other nieces and nephews of which she was very fond of; and  special sister-in-law, Lolita Crosby of Avonport.

In addition to her parents, Gladys was predeceased by her husband, John “Dave” Coldwell; and brothers, Charlie and Pat Corcoran.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Saint Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Kentville, on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
