Obituary of Geraldine Audrey Belinda Oswald
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Geraldine “Gerry” Audrey Belinda Oswald of Digby who suddenly passed at home on April 10, 2024.
Gerry was a member of the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science for 40 years. She attended Acadia University before deciding to attend NSIT to become a Medical Laboratory Technologist. Upon graduation, she began her career immediately at Digby General Hospital where she worked for over 35 years.
Gerry “Gerbear” was a kind, gentle and generous person. She loved knitting and reading. She was a Friends of Ferals and Digby Curling Club member, and always looked forward to bonspiels. She loved her cats and dogs, traveling, long drives listening to her music, walks in the woods, dinners and card nights with her family, doing the New York Times Crossword Puzzles, and, of course, the sun.
She will be fondly remembered for her gentle soul and greatly missed by Aarbear, her family, and her friends.
Gerry is survived by her son, Aaron O’Neil; her cat, Lexie; parents, Dieter and Janet Oswald; sister, Krista; brothers, Dieter (Norma) and Kirk (Kristina); as well as nieces and nephews.
A private visitation will take place on April 14, at 2:30 in the Serenity Funeral Home, Digby. Interment will take place at the Church of Nativity, Sandy Cove at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Friends of Ferals Society.
