Joseph Pius Cameron Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Joseph Pius (Bud) Cameron at Valley Regional Hospital on May 8, 2024. Born on November 16, 1940, in Wellington Centre, PEI, he was the son of Eusabius and Eileen (née Smith) Cameron.

Bud left home at age 18 for Ontario, where he met his future wife, Elinor (née Jack) and was the proud father of two daughters, Wendy and Lori. Upon retirement, he moved to Kentville, NS, where he enjoyed curling and golfing.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 60 years, Elinor; his daughter Lori (Robin Crouch); grandchildren David and Elinor (King), and Anna, Foster, and Charlotte (Crouch); great-grandson, Peter King; sister Sarah (John Bryson); brother Louis; brother-in-law Cecil Cameron; sister-in-law Norma Cameron; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter Wendy and son-in-law Peter King, and siblings Hilda (Ronald MacNeill), Emmett, Viola, Justin, Beatrice (Richard Deighan), and sister-in-law Lilianne Cameron.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia would be much appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
