Jutta Gojny

Obituary of Jutta Ursula Gojny

It is with great shock and infinite sadness that I have to acknowledge the sudden death of my beloved Jutta, after 61 years of a very happy marriage. She was the absolute darling and center of our family and the grief that has gripped us all cannot be described in words.

I Paul Gojny with our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Martin and Karen & family Anthea & Timo, Dayan & Robin and Rene and Julie, and daughter Gabi & Norbert and family Ties and our son Thomas and Katja and family Tom Felix & Laurie, will carry you in our heart’s forever.

Jutta was one of four children born in Breslau East Germany to Peter and Gertrud Kumm. She lived most of her growing up years in Kiel and then met and married Paul Gojny 61 years ago. They made their home in Cuxhaven Germany where the raised their family and owned and operated a very successful business.

Jutta was an amazing seamstress and if you were fortunate enough to be gifted one of her needle points or cross stitch, you would see the love she put into each stitch. Jutta was also an avid swimmer, a fabulous cook and hostess, and she always welcomed you with a warm hug and smile.

Many days you could find Jutta happily working in her beautiful garden or feeding the birds or squirrels or just enjoying a good book while she soaked up the sun, and of course looking after Paul who she loved and adored. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren and looked forward to each great grandchild joining their family.

They came to Canada and purchased land on Ballou Point in 1986 and fell in love with Nova Scotia, and every year they would return from Germany to enjoy their lake home on Ponhook. They were actively involved in the Greenfield community helping and supporting in any way they could,

Jutta spent the remainder of her life right to the very end in her beloved lake home and was never as happy as when she was at Ponhook and hence her decision to make Nova Scotia her final resting place.

She will be missed and forever loved by her family and friends.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Serenity Funeral Home and a combined German and English service will take place on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 2:30 pm at Greenfield United Baptist Church with a family committal service at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
