Obituary of Mary Catherine Coldwell

 

Mary Catherine (Brown) Coldwell- 95 of Gaspereau passed away peacefully in Evergreen Nursing Home for Special Care, Kentville on June 1st, 2024. She was born in Black River to Robert and Kathleen (Kane) Brown.   

Mom was a member of Gyms and Jewels Club, Gaspereau Ladies Auxiliary and Gaspereau United Baptist Church.

 

Mom's greatest joy was having the family gather for a lunch meal on Sundays.

 

She is survived by daughter Linda (Keith Davidson) of Greenfield, Pauline Meldrum of Wolfville, LaVerne (Barry Walker) of Wolfville, Mary Denise Wile (Brian Beals), of Alberta, son, Perry of Gaspereau, Ann- [Perley's wife] of New Minas. 10 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren. Sister-in- law Beverley Brown.

 

In addition to her parents Mary was predeceased by her loving husband of 73 years in 2021, a son Perley in 2019. Son-in-law Robert Meldrum. Sisters: Doris, Gladys, Shirley. Brothers: Frank, Donald, Joseph and Murray. Sisters-in-law: Bernice Brown and Frances Brown.

 

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of Evergreen Nursing Home for their excellent care and compassion in the last few years and in her final days.

 

Cremation has taken place. Mary's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral. A private family graveside service will take place in Gaspereau Cemetery with Rev. Gary Manthorne to officiate on June 5th, at 10 AM. Memorial donation may be made to the Gaspereau United Baptist Church, 2828 Greenfield Road, Gaspereau, NS. B4P 2Rl. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr, Coldbrook, NS. B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822.
