It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Doreen May Corkum, 89 of New Minas on June 10, 2024. Born September 11, 1934 Doreen was the daughter of the late Oswald and Henrietta (Morley) Phalen.

In her younger years, Doreen worked for Canada Foods. As she got older she moved on to work at ACA Poultry in New Minas. Doreen relished in the time she spent in her yard to create a beautiful landscape. She also took pleasure in going for Sunday drives any day of the week. Whenever she could, Doreen would go for walks with her friend and companion Ed Lloyd. Their favorite place to go was the Windsor trail by the water and after they would stop for a bite to eat at Lisa’s Restaurant. They also enjoyed going to the Marsh. Doreen was a big country music fan and on occasion would go to shows, Fox Mountain and Port George were two of her favorite places.

“Doreen was kind and those that got the chance to know her, will miss her dearly”
