Lockena Florella Murphy, nee Armsworthy 76 of Westville, NS. Lockena, a loving mother, wife, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2024 at home with her family by her side.

Lockena born in Antigonish to the late Lena Hendsbee and Kenneth Armsworthy, lived in half island cove until she met the love of her life, John and moved to Ontario, moved back to Dartmouth, then made their permanent home in Pictou County

Lockena is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, John, children, Corinna (Scott Turner) Aquadeo SK Jennifer, (Paul Johnstone) Pictou Co; Grandchildren, Dyllan, Summer, Lydon, and Tymberlee; Great grandsons, Parker and Levi; Sisters, Elizabeth (Francis) MacDonald, Vera, (Peter Fraser) Loretta Armsworthy, Alfreda (Douglas O’ Laney) Marcel (Phillip Hall) Brother Alphonse (Angela) Castonguay; honorary siblings Isabelle Mooy, Diane Cassivi,, and, Larry Murphy as well as many nieces and nephews and a special mention to her “Jam family”.

In addition to her parents, Lockena was predeceased by her son Joseph Elliot Murphy; brother Manthorne Armsworthy, and, honorary brother, Elliot Murphy.

 Lockena was a devoted mother and wife, dedicated to her family and friends. She had a heart of gold, always putting others before herself. Her kindness, compassion, warmth and humor touched the lives of everyone she met. She enjoyed reading and camping and was an active member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

 A visitation will take place on June 25, 2024, from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on June 25, 2024, at 3:00 pm in the Bethel Baptist Church, 1984 Temperance St. Westville. Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA.
