Obituary of Jim Hampsey

Lawrence “Jim” Gregory Hampsey, 81 of Berwick, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024, in the Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Berwick on Mary 3, 1943, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Toney) Hampsey.

Jim was a proud member of the Annapolis Valley First Nation and a member of the St. Anthony’s of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Berwick. He was an avid sports enthusiast all his life. He enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, and Golf (which he had several holes-in-one). Jim also loved hockey and his favorite team was the Montreal Canadiens.

Jim will be lovingly remembered by his siblings, Eric Hampsey and David Hampsey; and special friend, Betty Banks; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by brothers, Patrick and John; sisters, Joyce and Theresa.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 11:00 am in the St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, Berwick. Interment will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville. Memorial donations may be made to a Charity of One’s Choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
