Obituary of Patrick Allen Gray Smith
Patrick Allen Gray Smith, born on November 29, 1970, in Kentville, NS, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2024, at the Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre (KRRC) in Waterville, NS.
Patrick had a great sense of humor and artistic spirit, cherished by those who knew him for his love of animals, particularly cats and dogs, and his creative pursuits in drawing and journaling. Patrick also enjoyed music, movies, and mountain biking, despite his long struggle with diabetes complications.
Patrick spent his youthful years working in Vancouver, BC, and Terrace, BC, where he embraced diverse experiences that enriched his character and broadened his horizons.
Patrick is survived by his loving mother, Margaret Smith of Hantsport, NS; his sister, Rebecca Smith (Brian Lockhart), of Avonport, NS; along with aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Patrick was predeceased by his father, Randolph Gray Smith.
Special thanks are given to cousins Kim Smith and Tracey Cooke for their frequent visits and support during his illness, as well as to the staff at KRRC for their care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life for Patrick will be announced and held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the SPCA, Hope for Wildlife, Canadian Diabetes Association, or The Kidney Foundation of Canada, organizations that reflect Patrick's love for animals and his courageous battle with health challenges.
