Obituary of Bruce Eugene Turner
Bruce Eugene Turner - September 26, 1954 – August 13, 2024
It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Bruce Eugene Turner, 69, of the Forties. He cherished his family; never missing an opportunity for a Sunday meal, dance recital, or school graduation. He was a proud and loving father and an even prouder grandfather. Bruce was a hard working Christmas tree producer and retired Land Surveyor for Department of Natural Resources. He was a former member of the Nova Scotia Christmas Tree Council, a current member of the Lunenburg County Christmas Tree Producers Association, and a member of the Freemasons – being a true and faithful brother, and a past Master of Norwood Lodge #135, New Ross, for 30 years.
Bruce was a true farmer at heart – whether it be raising cattle in his former years, cutting hay, or growing Christmas trees until his passing. He enjoyed living the simple life – never wanting the high tech options of electronics or a desire to be part of the next big trend. He valued natural resources and this was evident in both his work and leisure. He was a supportive member of his community and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to a neighbor, friend, or stranger.
Bruce was predeceased by his wife Sandra, an infant child, Krista, and his parents, Leon and Norma Turner.
Bruce is survived by his son, Ryan (Jessica), step-daughters Heather (Randy) and Schelene (Allan); granddaughters Lily, Saege, and Jade; sisters Diane and Ardith (Neil), brother Craig (Cynthia), several aunts, an uncle, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Serenity Funeral Home, New Ross, on Sunday, August 18th, 2024 from 2-4 pm. Funeral to be held at Christ Anglican Church, New Ross on Monday, August 19th, 2024 at 2 pm. A Masonic Service, conducted by Norwood Lodge, will be held at a private family graveside burial on Saturday, August 17th, 2024. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home New Ross Funeral Chapel, 4935 Hwy #12, New Ross, B0J 2M0 (902-689-2961).
