The family of the late Patricia “Pat” Moore (Anderson), 90 announce her death on September 12, 2024, at home. Born in Detroit, Michigan on June 9, 1934, she was the second daughter of the late Mabel McCulloch, born in Calderbank, Old Monkland, Lanarkshire, Scotland & James Robertson Anderson, born in Lochee, Dundee, Scotland.

Growing up, Pat learned to treasure her deep Scottish roots, work for the betterment of the community, and to value family time at the table, as well as to believe in social justice and Christian morals. After graduating in 1956 with a B.A. in biology from Alma College (magna cum laude), she completed her MSc. in biology from the University of Michigan, and in 1981, her MEd. in administration/ special education from Acadia University.  Additionally, she completed the Lay Pastoral Training Program in 2000. Pat met her husband and life-long partner, Reg, in a class while at U of M. They married on February 2, 1957, and moved to Wolfville for work opportunities in 1960. Pat raised her three children, later re-entering the workforce as Director of the Wolfville Children’s Centre, as well as a volunteer and a resource teacher in schools in Kings County. Her love of educating and her students was evident. In her spare time, Pat was well known as a gardener, restorer of the historic property Kent Lodge, avid reader, collector of antiques, and generous host of many who came to enjoy the house and the garden. Highlights included achievement of a Provincial Historic Site Status for Kent Lodge and establishment of a Quiet Garden. She loved cooking and sharing family meals in her home. She was an active member of St John's Anglican Church in the Parish of Horton. She volunteered and supported many charities such as Food Bank, Shawl Ministry, ACW, Altar Ministry, visitation for shut-ins, and other institutions. Also, Pat was physically active even in her later years.

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, her independence, concern for those less fortunate, progressiveness, curiosity, generosity, belief in the potential of others, and support of her family members will be missed.
