Condolences to you Carol and to Roy's and your families
I'm recalling my first meeting of the new boy in my grade 7 class in Vernon BC. He spoke with an English accent and was a little shy. We became fast friends, became Queen Scouts at the same time and in 1961 we hitch hiked around the USA then ended up working the night shift in an Old Folks Home in Etchinghill England for 4 months. Later we were motorcycle buddies for several years. Roy, my friend of sixty nine years, I will miss you.

Dr. Roy Harding was my Doctor in Mt. Uniacke. The moment I met him, I liked him. Both of us shared the passion of motorcycling, cycling and fitness. I wish to extend my deepest condolences to his very capable partner, Carol and to his family. I like his motto of leaving the world a better place than we found it. Roy's sage advice is something I will take to heart and integrate into my life. I feel very fortunate to have had him as my Doctor and also to solve most of the world's problems in his office. His care and humor always made my day!

As a pharmaceutical rep, I visited Dr. Harding at various locations. He was always respectful and such an advocate for his patients and their well-being. Dr. Harding always ended up making me laugh but also created challenging banter and I looked forward to every interaction! My condolences to his family. He was a very special individual who cared for so many!

Carol and family, I cannot express the sorrow I feel…my sincere condolences. How does one memorialize such a great man, doctor and friend…the person who literally saved my life…I can’t. His sincerity, compassion and empathy can never be replaced. He was always just a phone call away. What an honour and privilege to have known him and call him friend. I am a much better person for having known him.

...or Deeeebra as Roy called me. Such laughter as he excised a mole while talking about the roast beef dinner he'd cooked the night before; or the many students he'd let sit in (with permission of course) for a learning session. I'd respond, "well they have to learn somewhere". 29 years...Digby, Bear River, Mount Uniacke...my doctor and my friend, you are greatly missed, never forgotten, irreplaceable. Hugs Carol and fam and all who knew him. A great soul has moved on to the next...

When I was but 20 years old and working at the hospital in Digby as a lab tech, in come Dr. Harding. I was having the most difficult time taking blood from an unconscious inpatient on the 2nd floor one weekend when I was on all by myself. He grabs her arm and says "Has no one ever shown you how to take blood from a person in kidney failure?" I quietly and frightenly say "No". He proceeds to show me. I went on to show that technique to many, many young phlebotomists in the future. His bedside manner wasn't always soft, but he was always teaching those of us who needed help.

This wonderful man was my doctor for over 22 yrs. He was my doctor when he first came down to our medical centre here on Long Island. Which I might add, he helped get it here. He was also a friend. Dr. Harding helped me in more ways than one , His help went far and beyond. I was never rushed out of his office, ever! Such a smart doctor you were. I just cannot believe you are gone. I will never forget you.
He told me one time, when i asked him when he was retiring?. (He was in his 70’s then) . His simple reply was “ I simply want to pass my knowledge down to others for awhile longer”. Such a caring man you were and I will never forget you and will always put you to the top of the doctors I’ve had over the years. R.I.P. Dr. Harding. You left us way to soon.
Sympathies to you Carol and the families.

We were Roy and Carols neighbours in Windsor Junction for many years. I could fill a book with special memories of Roy but one in particular is the day we moved into our new home in Capilano Estates. Dr Roy Harding showed up in my driveway with 2 cups of freshly brewed coffee and a homemade apple pie..a handshake and huge welcome smile. I have missed them both terribly since their move and will miss the possibility of seeing Roy from time to time. He was a special human, amazing doctor loved by so many. RIP my friend:)

Upon moving to the area of Bear River, I became a patient of Dr. Harding for the last few years he was in practice. The day he said he was retiring, I told him there would be no one like him, and I wished he wasn't going (because he was so great), but I understood that it was time for him to relax and enjoy retirement. He was the only doctor that listened and I mean really listened when you spoke to him. I bumped into him a few times in Digby after his retirement and he told me he was working a little bit with Maple. He always had a smile and a hello. So sorry to hear of his passing. May he rest in peace. Condolences to his family, and especially his wife who he always spoke so fondly of.

Dr Roy was my father’s Dr for many years and how we appreciated him. He always had time and patience with seniors with mobility issues and slowness of pace. He never made us feel rushed and he always had time to tell a story. His diagnostic skills were superb and it never took him long to get a referral when needed. No long waits to move on to the next step with him. A life well lived and he will be greatly missed. Condolences to all the family on your great loss.

Roy Harding was my family doctor for approximately 20 years. Every word of his obituary describes him to a tee. He was a kind, knowledgeable doctor who always had time to listen to your problems and help solve them. At age 40 I wanted a mammogram because women’s magazines were suggesting it and he finally sent me - he said to shut me up but I know he sensed my concern. I had breast cancer. I believe he saved my life that day. Yes, he always took residents hoping they would fall in love with Digby like he had and I know they got excellent training from him. To Carol and her family, I extend my sincere condolences. We’ve all lost a wonderful human being.
With love to

Two things come to mind when I remember Roy.....
1. He always gave the positive side of any story.
2. We loved talking about food; we talked sourdough bread, the best way to cook scallops, he failed at trying to get me to sample alligator, I loved how he pronounced paaaa (pie)...lol.
It was just nice being in the same room with him. Wonderful man.
