Obituary of Fred Malcolm Bent
Fred Malcolm Bent, 72 of Bridgetown passed away on November 2, 2024, in the Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Middleton on February 15, 1952, he was the son of the late George and Marjorie (Acker) Bent.
Fred was an outdoorsman, He loved spending time at the old camp on Corbin Lake, you could find him cross country skiing, fishing, hunting or spending time out in the woods with nature. In his earlier years, Fred enjoyed playing baseball and working as the assistant manager of a local hockey team “We use to tease him and call him The Waterboy”said his wife Alva. Fred was employed by Britex, Spicer Construction and held other various types of jobs over the years.
Fred was his own man and could be quite intimidating until you got to know him. He was kind and will truly be missed by those who got the chance to be apart of his life.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Alva (guild); daughters Angela Bent, Tabitha (Tom) and Amanda (Scott); two wonderful grandchildren Dakota and Jordan Wright; three step grandchildren Brooklynne Painter, Lucas and McKenzie Keddy; sisters Phyllis (John) Beals, Sylvia Rice and Madelyn Eisner as well as various nieces and nephews.
Alva would like to extend a special thank you to nephew, Derek Rice who was so caring and good to Fred. No visition celebration of life at a later date
