Dear Nell and family, Having just returned from a trip overseas, we were saddened to read Garth's obituary on-line. Had we been here we would have attended the service. Condolences on the loss of a man we considered to be a true gentleman! He was a wonderful neighbour; remember the time we went sailing on the harbour and Garth let our son Andrew steer the sailboat. I'm sure memories of happy times you,Garth and your family shared will give you solace.
Love, Linda&Bill(Haley)

I'm so sorry to hear of Garth's passing.
He was a fine gentleman, an accomplished engineer and a patient and encouraging mentor to me as a fresh graduate engineer at Nova Scotia Power in 1977.
My condolences to Garth's family and friends.

Nell, Stephen, Cheyrl; I am so sorry to hear of Garth's passing. My heart goes out to you and your extended family. Stephen and Cheryl will not remember me as they were so young when I rented downstairs on Sarnia Avenue. The memories of the two of you, and the children, have remained with me over the years. While I did attend the "Celebration of Life for Garth' on Saturday, I had to leave before the reception so was not able to wish you all well as life goes on. I do recall one very early duck hunting trip I made with Garth. It was a nasty day weatherwise but we sat in the blind and endured the cold very wet rain. No ducks! Take care my friends. God Bless.

Nell and family - we are so saddened by the news of Garth's passing. We have been neighbours for many years at our Freshwater Trail building. Garth has always been a kind and gentle presence in our lives. With his illness- we have seen first hand what a loving family he has and how much he was cared for daily by Nell with the support of Cheryl and Steven and families. Please know that we are thinking of you all through this difficult time and although we are currently away, we will hold you all in our thoughts and prayers for Garth's service. May your memories keep you strong in the difficult days ahead. We will miss hearing Garth's tinkling on the piano.

It is with great sadness that we lost a great human being in Garth Mallett. We have known Garth and Nell for many years as members of the Woodlawn United Church. Garth was always a wonderful caring person who would always be there to help someone he knew or didn't know. We found out about his boating history and were quite pleased to know that he loved his boating time with family and friends as there were many funny stories of things that happened in his boating days. Garth is one person that if you met him , you would never forget him as he was " a true gentleman". Our prayers are with Nell and the family as it is so difficult to lose a loved one and we will be thinking of Nell and family in the future . Murdock and Connie Morrison

Dear Nell and family,
We are saddened at the passing of Garth. He was a steady and kind sailor. In his racing days he was a strong competitor and always up for teasing on the water and on shore. We treasured his connection with us. We know that you will miss him dearly. We are out of town and won’t be able to attend the service. We will hold you in our hearts as you face the loss of a fine man. We will cherish our memories of Garth.
Take care,
