MacLaren, Ian Alexander "Sandy"- 61, Factorydale, Kings Co., was born on March 6, 1949 in Sydney, Nova Scotia, and passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at home with his family by his side. Left with loving memories are wife of 33 years, Caryl (Bent); son, Ryan (Jennifer); daughter, Cynthia (Ian); grandson, Joshua Alexander; mother, Ruth (Brownell); brother, David, Bob and Jim; sisters, Mary and Anne. He was predeceased by father, Frederick Winslow; brother, Bruce. Sandy owned and operated MacLaren Appliance Service in the valley for over 25 years. He had a passion for sport fishing and snowmobiling. Sandy loved to spend time with his family and friends. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900). Rev. Michael Mugford officiating, with Interment at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of ones choice.
