RUSSELL, Glendon Oden, 85, Kentville, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2010 at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, after a lengthy illness. Born in Aldersville, he was a son of the late Oscar and Lotta (Meister) Russell. He is survived by his wife, Nora (Clooney) Russell, sons Allan Russell, Kentville; Eric (Eileen) Russell, Dartmouth; daughter Deborah Russell, Kentville; sister Elsie (Ronald) MacCarthy, Halifax; brother Cedric (Joan) Russell, Ontario; as well as four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Glendon was predeceased by his first wife Pansy (Cook), his youngest son Kenneth Russell, brothers John, Kentville; Lloyd, Fairview; Oliver, Noel, Hants Co.; Otis, Aldersville; sisters Pauline Thompson, Dartmouth; Frances Russell, Aldersville; Olive Wheatly, Digby; Hazel Ettinger, Kennetcook; Edna Robinson, Newfoundland; and Violet Roberge, Vancouver. Cremation has taken place and no visitation by request. A Graveside Service will take place on Monday, October 4, 2010, at 2:00 pm at the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, with Rev. Virginia DeAdder officiating. A reception will follow at Serenity Funeral Home, 568 Main Street, Wolfville. Donations in Glendon?¢s memory may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital or to a charity of one?¢s choice. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Serenity Funeral Home & Crematorium, 568 Main Street, Wolfville, NS, B4P 1E7.
