BRESNAN, ELIZABETH (FIELDS) - 106, Wolfville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 19, 2011 at Evergreen Home For Special Care, Kentville. Born in New Glasgow she lived and was cared for by her parents the late Rev. Martin Luther Fields and Mary Fields. Elizabeth was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi, Catholic Church, Wolfville. She was a member of the Silver and Gold Seniors Club of Wolfville and a member of the Kings Fiddlers Club. Elizabeth had a deep love of music and especially dancing. She loved working in her flower garden and was an avid bird lover. She will be remembered for many acts of kindness and empathy towards others over the years. Elizabeth worked for various people and later in life worked for many more years in the Biology Department at Acadia University. She ran the family construction business after her husband fell ill until it wound down. Surviving are son, John, Kentville; daughters, Joyce (Donald) Young, Kentville, Frances, Port Williams, Mary June Davison, Wolfville; Margaret, New Minas; grandchildren Marie (Gene) Harvey, Berwick, Raymond (Kim) Davison, Bishopville, Jeffrey (Cathy) Davison, Lower Sackville, Jody (Todd) Bennett, Canning, John (Brenda Corkum), Lakeville; one great-grandchild Taylor Bennett, Canning, and nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Frank Bresnan in 1962 and infant daughter, Margaret Rose, step-sister, Olive Fields MacLeod Hicks and step-brother, John Fields. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday January 23, 2011 in Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Wolfville. A Funeral Mass followed by a reception, will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday January 24, 2011 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Wolfville with Father Larry Pitcher officiating. Burial will be in the St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Wolfville Ridge at a later date. Donations in memory of Elizabeth may be made to the Alzheimer?¢s Society of Nova Scotia or to the charity of choice.
