Balcom, Brian Robert Raymond - 55, of Berwick, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2012 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville surrounded by family. Born in Berwick, he was a best friend and son to his father, Robert (Jean), Berwick. Also, son of mother, Joan (William - Billì³) Chute-Balcom, Berwick. Brian had driven trucks since he was 18 years old and held his first job with Annapolis Valley Peat Moss. He owned and operated B.R. Balcom Trucking and truly loved his job and way of life, where he made many friends. Brian worked for Fastrax (Oceanside carriers) for many of those years. Brian felt there was nothing like a Peterbilt and he treasured his trucks. Brian really enjoyed trucks, snowmobiles, motorcycles; and held a strong love for his animals. He took great pride in all he did and everything had to be immaculate. Brian was a very generous individual and would do anything for anyone; he was a friend to all making friends everywhere and easily. Brian will be sadly missed by all of his friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Kelly (Arenburg) Patterson; sons, Ryan Patterson, Berwick, Steven Patterson, Moncton, NB; brother, Allen (Joan), Berwick; sister, Bettyann Balcom, Upper Canard; father-in-law, Paul Arenburg, Digby; and mother-in-law, Maureen Rood, Port Williams; brothers-in-law, Darren Arenburg, Qatar; Kevin Arenburg, British Columbia; sister-in-law, Elaine Burke, Alberta; grandmother, Esther Chute, Berwick; and was the favorite uncle to; Kristopher; Krena; Cody Ray; Dezaray; Victoria; Madeline; Alexandria; Amanda; and Gordie. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 18 from 6-9 p.m. in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick with a Memorial Service taking place in the Christ Anglican Church, Berwick, Thursday at 2 p.m. with Reverend Charles Bull officiating. Memorial flowers are welcome. Donations in Brian?¢s memory may be made to the SPCA or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
