Very sad day today, A great and wonderful friend passed away, Boyd L. Lutz was the owner and operator of H. C. Lindsay Funeral Homes in the Annapolis Valley for many years. Boyd took a lot of wonderful people under his wing and I was lucky enough to be one of them, Boyd was a true gentleman and always saw the good in every person, I had the pleasure of working with him and his family for years and it truly was a pleasure that they included me into their family as well as their family owned business, he took me under his wing, taught me how to do things the right way, and how to excel and be a better person, he taught me and treated me like a son. The world was blessed to have such a wonderful person care for so many people in their time of need and I am so thankful to have known him and his family and to have worked beside them over the years. May God bless you Boyd and your family during this difficult time, rest now my friend, I know your love and faith have served you well Boyd, until we meet again, rest in peace....

I would like to express my deepest condolences to the Lutz family. I had the privilege of getting to know Boyd during my time as a funeral service student in 1996-1997. He was a great teacher in funeral service education, he also was a great friend to sit and chat with about life in general and have a few laughs, he always got a great chuckle out of us newfoundland students. His devotion to the community as a whole, I'm sure will be greatly missed. May you rest in peace my dear friend.

Florence, Kim, Karen and Kevin Our dearest sympathy's to all of you and extended family. I was truly shocked to hear as I know you all were. Boyd or Laverne as I called him taught me everything i took with me in my Ambulance career, i credited him in many of my presentations with EHS for the teaching of respecting everyone, not just because of what position they held, but what each person represented. I can remember doing funerals, visitation's and even a few ambulance calls with him, and I always learned something. Boyd also helped me when my Dad died way to early, Boyd offered me insight to life, business and those chats also helped me. I am sorry to write so much, but just wanted you all to know what he meant to me, I know I hadn't seen him for a number of years, but life grows a lot of people apart and we all get busy, but I had always kept tabs on him and recently had spoken with Kevin, which was nice !! I would like to express my sympathies to Boyd's family. I attended NSCC, Kingstec Campus, from 1996-1997. I am appreciative of the support the Funeral Services Program and students received from Boyd and all the staff at H.C. Lindsay Funeral Homes; it enabled us to gain valuable experience to help further my career. To Boyd and his staff, for opening themselves up to numerous students year after year and taking the time to share knowledge and skills with us, I thank you. May you rest in peace.

Florence,Kim,Karen, and Kevin..you have cared well for Boyd as he has so unselfishly cared for all of you and his community. My thoughts are with you all in the coming days as you support one another with all the good memories.I am attending my 50 year college reunion in PEI this weekend and unfortunately will not be back in time for Sunday. I have found this quote from a Murder She Wrote novel to be thought provoking.."you never stop missing and hurting, but as time goes by,you find more and more places to hide the hurt" God Bless...Bernie Hawkins

Please accept our deepest condolences with the passing of Boyd. We will always remember Boyd's enthusiastic support of Minor Hockey and the various teams our son Neal played on with Jeremy. Boyd was always "front and centre" with a little something for the boys in the dressing room. On tournaments, Boyd would always pay for a meal for the entire team ( and often times their parents) . Please know that Boyd was highly respected and appreciated by our family. He will be missed. Blaine, Joanne, Gillian, Neal and Ian Morrison, Kentville.

My mother used to work for Boyd a long time ago at HC Lindsays. Her name is Lynne Boudreau. I am Boyd's god daughter. My mother and father both always spoke very highly of Boyd and Florence both every time that they would mention them. I remember as a child getting very thoughtful gifts at Christmas time from Boyd and Florence. Boyd should be remembered as a very kind, thoughtful and hard working man who provided very well for his family. My family expresses their deepest sympathies at your time of loss.
