So this is the last letter. It has been five years. I wrote you a condolence on your gazette legacy but I’ve been more consistant on this one. Nova Scotia was our home in the end and since I’ve said a million times all I have to say I will state once more that I wish you the deepest of peace and give you my love and friendship forever.
This is not goodbye. You know that.
Rest easy,Love.....we will see each other again. At the very least in dreams or the faces of others......at the best somewhere far better than what we endured.
Always,
Me

I still miss you.
Tyrone and Samara bought their house outside Fredricton.
I have now a place in Florida, a puppy named Sullivan, and friends of course.
I know they are never to replace you. You and I knew so much,
Were accused of more and yet never committed a crime!
( You might have:) if so? Glad you never said!!)
I think of E (your Mother) and her new car (71-72?) and your 9 year old body leaping from the loft on to the bonnet?
I think on the way you kept Your sister J quiet after nearly taking her eye out with a dart! How intricately you explained how badly you felt!!
Of your cousins with the vacant house, the large fan, the galvanized nails....thrown:)
You asked me once to be your memory! Might have asked another..( laughs)!!!
I think you told me Dutchess was still around in most those days....
They took all I had of you, as you know....( except the car! ) Those “supers” S&R did some super robbing of other things I never mentioned. Her being on I knew wasn’t the issue.....my fault was not remembering people have to steal for what she needed. We knew, I know. I didn’t think I’d be ill so long....regret is terrible.
I’m sorry I thought I could trust them with you while I was away.
Your family believed them as having been truthful and helpful. They ended up the ‘Good People’ and I guess that is what the living need to believe. It is easy ‘black and white’ for the average. Remember? We said we wouldn’t want it otherwise!:)
I am ever so proud of you. How you stood against a pain we went so far to conquer....for no
answer or consolation.Without promise you went.
LOOK!
Almost five years later! I’ve yet to find a spark of what was in the heart of you!!
You were as good at hatred and lies as you were at love truth.....I can still find no fault in that...
even when that is all others can/ could see.
I perceived it a brilliance of it’s own sort.
I am only sorry for how you had to hone your
edge.
I will never stop loving you.
54 days until your birthday.....05/14/1962!!!
I won’t forget. I just won’t write..
After five years.? Was that what we said??
Until,
Me xo

Tyrone and Samara had their little boy last evening.
His name is Tyrell John STEPHEN Thompson.
He was born at 4:06 pm and weighed 8 4oz.
I will always be there for them as I know you would have been also.
Your father abandoned Tyrone when you passed.
They were uncaring and selfish as we talked extensively about.
You said so many times how you wished because of his devotion and kindness
to us both he were your son.
He is. He named his first born son after you. His father.
There will never be a day we both do not think of and honour you.
All the troubles you had we understood.
We were all at one point abandoned. You most horribly by yours.
Look though darling what we created and kept alive though all the pain.
You have a grandchild. You deserved so much more understanding...
But YOU Stephen Charles go on in not only memory but in name also.
Your family was the one you created not the one you were born to.
And this family is still here remembering and forever missing you.
We, as like everyday, send our love to you. GRANDfather!!
Xo

I will never stop feeling the loss of you. The love and friendship we shared was known by very few and highly misunderstood by many more.
I really wanted you to know that even though your family disregarded and discarded Tyrone I did not.
He called last night to thank us both with everything we did for him and for believing in him.
He is marrying a girl from New Brunswick who is finishing her PhD. in neurology and will be giving birth to their baby boy in late October. They have just been approved for a mortgage on a house outside Fredricton and I am already “Grandma”.
Even if nobody ever understands how much I loved you and what true friends we really were Tyrone, his wife, his degree and his child know....and we know.
I will always love you,be proud of what you faced, sorry for the pain you suffered and like Tyrone is, I will always be honoured to have known you through all the good and even the bad......that just made it real even if the travesty is that no one will ever know how hard it was and they didn’t even care to know.
I cared Stephen enough for all. I always will (but I think you know)
Love always,
Me xoxoxo
