Thexton, Brenda Elsie, 94 of Wolfville, NS passed away peacefully in the Valley Regional Hospital on October 10, 2016. Born in Windsor, Nova Scotia in 1921, she was the eldest daughter of the late Arthur and Elsie Smith. Mum grew up in Falmouth, River Philip and Truro, NS. During World War II she served with the RCAF (WD) in Ottawa for four years. Mum is survived by her son Robert (Karen) of Bridgewater; daughter Dianne (Gordon) Thorpe of Wolfville; grandsons David Thexton of Whitehorse; Matthew Thexton of Ft. McMurray; Trevor (Kait) Thorpe of Tantallon; granddaughters Heather (John) Millikin of Kelowna; Kimberly (Adam) Hachey of Manila, Philippines; great grandson Cameron Millikin; great granddaughters Fiona and Nora Hachey and Eloise Millikin; sister Renee (David) Adams of Mississauga. She was predeceased by her husband Major Robert G. Thexton in November 2013, sisters Myrna O'Connor of Georgetown, ON and Joan Geddes of Truro NS. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, Wolfville Chapel, 568 Main Street Wolfville (902-542-4656). A Memorial Service will be held on October 18, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the St. John's Anglican Church Wolfville with Rev. Sandra Fyfe and Rev. Dr. Bruce Matthews officiating. Reception to follow. Burial will take place in the St. John's Anglican Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Charity of Your Choice.
