Obituary of Clyde Edwin Roy Smith

Please share a memory of Clyde to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Clyde Edwin Smith, age 63, of Fall River passed away on November 23, 2016. The son of the late Gordon and Donelda Smith, Clyde grew up and attended school in Spryfield. After receiving his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Dalhousie University he went directly into management at Sears Canada and later at SLH Transport, until his retirement in 2014. Clyde; an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast, had a large circle of friends whom he loved spending time with, either at baseball, hockey, golf, or at the hunting camp. He also loved his walks through the woods with his pals Belle, and most recently Molly. Clyde and his wife of 42 years, Chris (Weeks), had a wonderful life together raising their two boys and watching them proudly on the ice, the football field, or the stage. Clyde is survived by his wife, Chris, and sons Nick (Shannon) and Tom (Katie). He loved his daughters-in-law as if they were his own. He is also survived by his sweet granddaughter Natalie. She and "Gramps" loved working in the garden together. Clyde leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law Carol Lynn and George Knowles, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Margot and Gary Keough and brother-in-law Jevens Matheson, and several nephews and nieces, of whom he thought the world. Clyde also cherished the entire Poole family, as they were an important part of his life from the time he was a small boy. He was predeceased by his own parents, his in-laws Tom and Mickie Weeks, and his sister-in-law Carolyn Matheson. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr (902-679-2822). Cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Port Wallis United Church, 263 Waverley Road, Rev. Ivan Gregan officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice in Clyde's memory.
