Minnie Bertha (Schofield) Woodworth of New Minas, passed away February 19, 2017 at The Valley Regional Hospital, while surrounded by love and her family. Minnie was the daughter of Harry and Pheobe (Cogswell) Schofield. Minnie is survived by her daughter Daisy (Eustace) Haynes, of Dartmouth, N.S. and son Maurice (Lynn)Woodworth of Vancouver, B.C. Minnie has 5 grandchildren, Christine Cameron, Dean Duplessis, Allison Duplessis, Christopher Adshade and Candace Adshade, also 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Edward, Gorden, Joseph, William and Leo Schofield. Minnie's wishes were for a graveside funeral service, which will be held in the spring. An announcement of date and time will be announced at that time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. (902-679-2822). Maurice, Daisy, and all of the family would like to say "thank you" to some of the special angels who have been sent into Mom's life, who have done so much to assist her, and enrich her life, and to bring joy to the family also. Ruth Bennett.......Mom's very dearest friend for 60+ years. Sharon Ross....niece Extraordinaire! Mom's "Help Line". Bill and Dora Harvie, precious, loving neighbors and friends. Esther Bradley, friend, deliverer of treats, and responder to Alert call. Jared Bradley who came every week to do things for Mom. Dr Donald Wadden, who has done his very best to keep her comfortable. Staff of Medical B, Valley Regional Hospital......so kind, compassionate, and attentive to every need. SHE ALMOST MADE IT!!! . The Beauty of The Mind of a Child Liam, age 6, the child of Mom's grand-niece, was being brought to see Aunt Minnie at the hospital, the day before she passed away. His Mom had told him that he might not see Aunt Minnie again because she would soon be going to Heaven. He walked in, holding his favorite Teddy, sat Teddy on the bed by Mom's hand, and told his Mom "If Aunt Minnie is going to Heaven, she will need Teddy to take with her". His dear little hand patted Teddy one more time, and he walked away. No dry eyes in the room!! His Grandma asked him if he was sure, because he would not see Teddy again.... he answered that he was sure. Mom was not conscious at the time, but someone laid her hand over that Teddy, and her hand never left it, until the hand fell in total relaxation, after her last breath. So, Teddy is with her. BEAUTY ALWAYS EXISTS....EVEN IN THE MIDST OF SORROW.
