James Richard Gamble, 85
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our dear husband, dad, grampy, brother and friend. He passed away peacefully March 21, surrounded by his family.
Jim was born August 11, 1931 in Saint John New Brunswick. He was the son of the late William "Bill" Gamble and Jean (Hughes). He was predeceased by his two brothers Robert Gamble (Frances) and Ronald Gamble (Clarice) and his sister-in- law Francis Gamble. He is survived by his wife Shirley (McCarthy) and their three children, Wendy (Fred) Currie, Coldbrook, Terry (Donna) Gamble, Fredericton and Holly Gamble Coldbrook. His grandchildren, Alana (Dan) Bird, Megan (Mike) Ball, Chris (Tabitha) Currie, Riley, Cassidy & Chloe Coombs (Kevin Coombs) and great grandchildren Madison and Milo. Also, his siblings, Gordon (Susan) Gamble, Pauline Gamble, Joan (Fred) Waters and Margaret (Wayne) Colwell.
Jim had an adventurous spirit which led him to many different places and many challenging careers. He was known for being a very kind and hardworking person and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Jim and Shirley had the pleasure of many travels. While working in France they enjoyed travel to Switzerland and Germany. After retiring they visited Florida, Barbados, Ireland and two trips across Canada with 15 other RV's and Ivan & Vivian Hicks. Jim enjoyed fishing and woodworking and we will miss him dearly.
Jim was a faithful member of St. James Anglican Church. He served on many committees and was a wonderful handyman.
