I know what you are going through Arlene. Losing our parents changes everything in our lives.How we live and walk in the world becomes very different regardless of age. I am so deeply and sincerely sorry for your loss. I know for my self, it has changed me. I pray that you can find comfort in your family. I remember your family and I send my deepest condolences to all of you.
I remember your Mom with sincere fondness. I spent so much time at your house as a little girl that most times when it came to dinner your mom just naturally set another plate at the table for me. I remember her being very proud of her family, laughing at Danny’s sense of humor and beaming with pride at Lorna’s artistic talents. She also understood both our passions for horses and even though your parents had such a large family to care for they still found a way to help you realize your dreams of owning your own horse. The memories of the both of us with our horses Sheba and Cocao riding for hours through the orchard and dykes are so cherished in my heart. Your mom made me feel like part of the family. My thoughts are with you all in this difficult time.

Grandma was an amazing woman in every sense of the word. I remember her home always smelling like fresh baking she could make anything but I always loved her wacky cake the most. Grandma was the woman I looked up to and admired, who I wanted to be when I grew up, she's the reason I love baking. I loved listening to her stories of when she was younger gold mining with grandpa and could make a home anywhere. I love you and miss you Grandma.

My favorite memories of mom are the picnics near Kelly or Charlie Lake or wherever we could slow down and pull over on a vacation to Vernon or Kamloops. She would always be there when i would phone from wherever I was; diamond drilling, or truck driving, or maybe working on the railway. She liked the songs/poems I wrote for her and dad called "They're Just Two Friends of Mine", the others I can't remember.
The years on the farm were the most memorable, they were the most difficult years but the most enduring. She handled every situation with the most outstanding strength. She loved music with dad and enjoyed singing along with him to songs they both loved and shared with us kids. When I would ask about life mysteries she always had answers, sometimes she would say go ask dad, and that was good. All in all she gave her life willingly to her family, that's what God would have her do.
God bless her, she was a great woman, and now Jesus is having her needs tended to.

Eliza Bishop,
Mom was the truest sense of a mother, she was a safe harbour, a trustworthy confidant, the kindest, warmest person I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing.
One of my earliest memories was when mom and I were in a secondhand store, I was just 3 or 4, a lady about moms age, was coming towards me, she apparently didn’t have any good intentions for this radical little boy, well mom caught her out of that very protective mother like eye, and persuaded that mean lady, this scared out of his trousers little boy, better be left alone, ya hear.
I knew at that moment I had the bestest mommy in the whole wide world yup I surely did. :-))
One time for school, I had to do an assignment on ants, I don’t know how long it took to do this assignment, she must have gone through how many of dads National Geographic magazines to have this ready by morning; it was the only great mark I received that year or since!
I took this very ladylike mom for ride on my motorcycle, can you imagine, here’s a lady nearly 60, riding on motorcycle, I told ya. she was some-thin, mom you looked so cool.
Well mom, I guess this is where we gotta say our goodbyes; I wish you had’ve met my Myrnaflor, she sure wanted to meet you mom, she’s a lot like you, sweet and cuddly.
Alright my best friend, NEVER; to be forgotten nor Ever to be replaced. We’ll see you real soon mom, in the New world, where you’ll be young and beautiful again.

Grandma will be with my mom, her daughter once again and I can just imagine those two hugging each other and having good laugh over the good times they had. Also joining with Grandpa once again and maybe he is playing his guitar and harmonica for her. We spent many summer vacation in squamish with them when we were young. Danny and I probably drove her crazy sometimes with our shinanigins. Like the time she had to wash his hair multiple times one day like my mom did to me because we got into the vaseline and threw it into each others hair. Grandma had such a great laugh and a great sense of humor. She will be missed by everyone. I am thankful for all she did for me and for being apart of who I am. Forever in my heart and many memories to relive in my mind. Love you Grandma.

Summer vacation. We would pack up our car with all our stuff and pets to start the 24-hour drive out to visit Grandma and Grandpa's house. We would pull up and there you were waiting, with a big hug. I remember the excitement so well. The dancing, the music, the smells, the stories. The faces everyone made walking through the fishbowl. Sitting and watching the hummingbirds with you. Looking through all the photo albums with you. Picking plums and berries with you. How excited you were when I told you stories. Playfully calling me out when I cheated in games. You were always so patient with me and full of love.
25 years later, you were holding my own little one. The smile on your face, the love in your eyes as you held her. I could see so many memories flooding back just through that moment that we shared.
This is what we will always remember; the moments. Miss you always.
