Obituary of Bruce Gerald Ferguson

Bruce Gerald Ferguson, age 64, passed on March 13, 2019. Bruce was born on Dec. 9, 1954 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to parents Gerald and Joyce.

He graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in mathematics. Most of his working life was spent in the communications and technologies fields specializing in sales and customer service.

Bruce was a great family man and a loving father to his two sons. He had lived in many parts of Canada but later in life, he chose to reside in rural Nova Scotia as he had grown up in the Annapolis Valley.

Bruce was a social, active man who was deeply involved in the outdoors for the majority of his life. He enjoyed camping, golfing and spending time on his acreage. He was an active member of the New Ross Royal Canadian Legion. His family and friends will always remember him as a humorous, kind and considerate person. When in the company of Bruce, you could always expect to get a laugh and a genuine feeling of well-being.

He is survived by his father Gerald Ferguson of Chilliwack, B.C.; his sons Tyler of Surrey, B.C. and Travis of Vancouver, B.C.; his brother Doug (Judy) of Waterville, N.S.; brother Robert (Jo-Ann) of Wolfville, N.S.; sister Debbie of Chilliwack, B.C.; sister Marilyn of Surrey, B.C. and his partner/good friend Holly of Winnipeg.

He is preceded in death by his wife Dyan and mother Joyce.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Friday, March 22 at 2:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion in New Ross with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bruce's life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the SPCA in honour of his love of cats.
