Kimley Margaret Babin, born June 25th,1949.

Surrounded by her family, Kim passed peacefully on the evening of Wednesday, May 1st, 2019. Kim was a loving wife, mother and Babin family matriarch. She was loved by all who met her and will be greatly missed by friends and family.

Kim spent her entire life being kind to others and focusing on the bright side situations. Her lovely sense of humour, gentle way with people and endless compassion made others feel warm and welcomed wherever she went. Kim lived her life with a burning passion for helping other people. One example of this was her commitment to donating blood to The Canadian Red Cross which spanned several decades.

She received her Bachelor of Education from Dalhousie University followed by a Masters of Education with a focus on deaf education. Kim spent her entire working career as a deaf educator with the Atlantic Provinces Special Education Authority (APSEA) in schools surrounding Halifax.

After meeting Leslie in 1973 they married in 1978 and had their son three years later. For the next 46 years they spent nearly every day together as best friends, lovers and parents.

Kim spent many years sailing between Nova Scotia and the Bahamas with her husband and her son. She placed her family first and lived to the fullest, always up for a new adventure or outing. She will be forever missed.
