I am so sorry to read this and even more sorry to have missed attending the service and seeing each of you. My deepest sympathy to all of you, but especially to John, David and your mom, and to Matt Hazelwood and your mom. I met Doug years ago when my best friend married into the Ushers. He was such a nice man. You are all in my thoughts today.

Sorry to hear about the passing of Doug.
I really liked Doug, so much so that I named my last child after him.
He wasn’t just a family member, he was a constant positive figure during my childhood. He will be greatly missed.

I worked with Doug for several years at the Kentville Research Station, particularly in the Berry Crops Breeding Program. Many of the strawberries you eat today are the result of Doug's hard work out in the field. Doug certainly was a fine gentleman and a heck of of a worker. We still often reflect upon those times together. He taught me how to play crib at noon! Very much missed.
