We send our heartfelt condolences to Evelyn's family. Evelyn was a special lady to all who knew her. Kind and considerate to everyone she met. I never heard her say a cross word about anyone. Not ever.
Evelyn was my cousin by marriage. Her husband, Don, was my blood-cousin but neither her nor I ever made that distinction. She was always Cousin Evelyn to me and my family. When my brother Ron and I became interested in learning more about the Reeves family history, Evelyn provided many interesting details that we knew nothing about.
Her greatest gift to Ron and myself was putting us in touch with a part of our family that we knew existed, but because we moved to the Boston area of Massachusetts as children, hadn't had any contact with for well over 60 years. Evelyn, without being asked, followed up on an obituary she read in the Halifax Herald and notified me that she had discovered my half-sister and her 11 children. We soon met them and established a loving relationship that continues to this day.
We thanked Evelyn for this gift any number of times. I'll say it again in a prayer to her loving memory tonight.
