Obituary of Evelyn Jean Boutilier

Evelyn Jean Boutilier, 89, of Lower Sackville, passed away peacefully at the Cobequid Community Health Centre on September 25, 2019. Born September 6, 1930 in Merced, California, she was the daughter of the late George and Lucy (Lee) Gray.

In 1932, the family moved to Prince's Lodge, Nova Scotia, the birth place of her Father.  She married Donald Boutilier of Bedford, and a year later, moved to Terrace Bay, Ontario, where they lived for 28 years, returning to Nova Scotia to retire in 1980.

She is survived by sons Reid (Lynn), Coldbrook; Carl, Terrace Bay, ON; daughter Dale (Barry) McEwen, London, ON; five grand-daughters, Christine (Jody) Gosbee, Lantz; Donna Boutilier, Horne Settlement; Yvonne (Dave) Turgeon, Mississagua, ON; Lisa (Brant) McChristie, Porcupine, ON; Lora Boutilier (Andy Quin), Kentville; 12 great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, Hunter and Tanner Gosbee; Mason, Preston, Rory and Audrey Robert; Julia Turgeon; Fiona, Angus and Noah McChristie; Jaxen Quinn; two sisters Kathryn Peppard, Calgary, AB; Dorothy Drysdale, Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Donald, in 2002.

Cremation has already taken place.  A private family burial will take place at a later date in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville.  Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
