Our deepest sympathies to you Denise(Bruce), Denis(Marion) and all you families. The only thing worse than losing one parent and grandparent is losing another so close together. We will treasure the memories and stories your Dad shared with us. Mom enjoyed seeing both your parents over these last years and reminiscing about the family and the good ole' times. Please know we are praying for you all and our thoughts are with you. I have a beautiful photo of Carleton and Mom, if you want it, email me. Keep in touch Denise.

I met Carlton as a kid back in the summer of either 73 or 74 when he worked for Neil Lockhart and Neil's crew built an addition to our house on Evangeline Drive...that summer was really warm and my brother and a few neighbor's kids loved to sit with him,Roscoe and the others on their breaks. He would tell us detailed, interesting stories or tons of jokes. He always came to work with his big thermos and huge lunch box...at lunch time he would surprise us as to what his lunch would be...thinking it was a sandwich everyday with cookies. The three or four of us would hang around the job site to pick up nails and pieces of boards for them. Whenever I would meet him years later he would always chat and tell me how he remembered us kids that summer and the laugh at the tricks he pulled on us...a very nice and but always a big tease....sorry to hear of his passing....

It is funny what memories popped up when hearing uncle Carleton died. I would have assumed it was the hunting and fishing stories, but it wasn't. I remember the coffee table loaded with dishes and jars of candy and chocolates at Christmas. From the time you started your visit to the time you left, he probably encouraged you to have more a half a dozen times. May he rest in peace.

This man will be missed so much. I didnt know him until he came to dykeland but in the five years he was there i got to know the Carlton that lived with us. He was sweet, kind and had a funny sense of humour. He talked so fondly of his family especially of his wife and from the stories he told she was a saint. There are a few people that stay in your heart and he will certainly be one of mine. My heart goes out to all of his family. It was an honour meeting and taking care of him for the last few years.
