I only found out today that Gerry had passed away when I read the CBC article about Northwood. I know I'm late but hope my message of condolence reaches someone in his family. I met Gerry at Shannex on Baker Drive. I was a volunteer there doing a "Coffee and Conversation" time on Thursday evenings. Gerry was special. He was proud of his family, and shared with me the story of his family and the Halifax Explosion. He was also a proud Canadian and spoke often of his time in the Navy. He had a great sense of humor and was a great contributor to our Thursday evening gatherings. When he wasn't there I missed him. Some Thursday evenings he went to Harris Hall if there was a Dance. He loved to dance and my stories and conversation couldn't compete with the opportunity to dance. I'm sad today. The time to go comes to all of us but in my mind the world is a little less better off now without Gerry and his warm smile and friendly nature. It was a privilege to have met and known him even for a short time. My condolences to all of his friends and family.

Charlene, David and extended family;
Karen and I are extremely saddened by the news of the passing of your father. Our prayers are with you during this trying time. I hope you hold onto the wonderful memories that have been created when your father was here with us all. He has continued his journey to be with the Lord. He has been called away for a greater purpose that the Lord has appointed only him to do. Rest assured you will meet him again once we finish this leg of our journey and are also called away. He is amongst his family and friends who have also come and gone.
