WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOUR SMILING FACE OF EACH TIME WE SAW YOU. LAKE PAUL WILL NEVER BE THE SAME WITH OUT CLAYTON. YOU WORKED HARD TO RAISE MONEY AND KEEP THE HALL IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. WE ALL HAD SO MUCH FUN THERE, MEMORIES WE WILL NEVER FORGET. OUR FIRST MEETING WAS AT FOX MOUNTAIN WHEN YOU AND DOLLY WERE ON THE GATE.. THERE WERE NO HOOK UP`S THEN . WE HAD A GREAT TIME THERE FROM THAT FESTIVAL AND ALL BLUEGRASS & COUNTRY EVER SINCE. WILL NEVER FORGET THE NIGHT YOU WON THE 50/50 DRAW. WE COULDN`T FIND THE WINNER , BUT LATER THEY ANNOUNCED THE PERSON WAS AT THE BAND STAND WAITING FOR HIS MONEY . WE WALKED I AND THERE YOU WERE CLAYTON SETTING IN A CHAIR WITH A GRIN AND TEARS ROLLING DOWN YOUR CHEEKS . THAT STARTED US ALL BAWLING. WE ALL WERE SO HAPPY FOR YOU AS WE KNEW THIS WAS YOUR FIRST TIME YOU EVER WON SINCE THE PARK WAS OPENED. YOU BOUGHT US ALL ICE-CREAM. NOW YOU WILL BE WITH YOUR BEAUTIFUL & LOVING WIFE DEBBIE. SHE WILL BE SO HAPPY TO HEAR YOU PLAYING YOUR DOBRO AGAIN. WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE OUR SWEET MEMORIES IN OUR HEARTS. RIP OUR DEAR FRIEND. YOU WILL BE SO MISSED. HUGS & LOVE MERRILL & SHEILA BARKHOUSE. XOXO

So sorry to hear this. He was a great man who always put a smile on your face. I did many skydives with Clayton flying the plane. Always felt safe with him at the controls. I remember one night in particular when we were flying back from a demo and we flew into a black wall of a rain storm. I jumped at the very last minute and wished him luck with the landing. I will never forget that last look into each others eyes, him at the controls and me out in the rain on the step, as we wished each other the best of luck that night in a very scary situation. After I landed I watched from the ground as he landed that plane smooth as silk in that violent storm. I never for got that night and though of it many many times through the years. He will be missed by many whom were lucky enough to have know him, me being one of them. RIP Clayton....see you on the other side my friend.

I have so many fawn memories of Debbie and Clayton.
Spent alot of weekends and summer vacation at their home. Will never forget at the breakfast table always having homemade doughnuts. So yummy.
Clayton teaching me how to drive his van. Setting on his lap as he let me steer. Iso remember meeting a vehicle and being so scared I would hit it. Clayton was so calm saying your fine you can do it watch the road.
I did it saying oh I thought I was going to have a head on conclusion. So funny everytime I seen Clayton and Debbie they always laughed and reminded me of the day. RIP you will be missed but always remembered.

Reading this today took me back to the age of 6 and this wonderful couple across the road .They spoiled me waiting to the day to have a little girl of their own .The love was never forgotten and in the mid 70's I named my baby girl Sonia "Loletta " after their little girl Dolly . Clayton and his wife Elizabeth were wonderful people and I send my love and sympathy to their family . PS Mr Joudrey even built my first car I was 6 it was wood with bycicle wheels and a gas jar gas can}Filled with water ].Just like the ones he made his boys .He built us a road beside the house and the boys often left me there after I ran out of "GAS " ....and Id cry and Mr Joudrey always came to rescue me .What a wonderful , kind man !

To the family of dear Clayton, Please know Clayton's jam family is grieving with you. Oh how we enjoyed HIS Dobro playing and HE easily took musical breaks, throughout the evening. Bless son, Dale and daughter, Dollie for making sure that he got down the mountain, to our hall, every Tuesday night. The jams will never be the same. What a priceless video! Thanks for sharing.

Dolly, Steven, Dale and families, so sorry to hear about Clayton's passing, he will be well remembered and forever missed, we enjoyed talking to him when we came to the Fundy Villa, and we are so happy we got to hear him play soon after he moved in, and he sang The Shaving Creme song, it brought back great memories of when he used to play at Shirley and Vaughan's house party, a pillar of Lake Paul, and a legend in his time, Rest in peace Clayton.
