Obituary of William Francis Romo

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

William “Bill” Romo, age 64 years of Head Chezzetcook, passed away on November 25, 2020 at Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital, Musquodoboit Harbour with his loving wife of 42 years by his side.  Born in Halifax on January 3, 1956 in the Halifax Infirmary, he was the son of the late Weldon and Stella (Myatt) Romo.

Bill graduated from DRVS in 1974 with a trade in motor vehicle repair.  He worked with Ken Robb, Autoport, Leo J. Casavechia at the Esso Imperial Oil Refinery and O.P. Fiberglass, but in the last few years you could usually find him wrenching on something out in the garage.

He is survived by his loving wife Heather (Bellefontaine) Romo; son Michael (Lynn) Romo; three grandsons Evan, Jasper and Oliver; two brothers Weldon (Gail) and Gerald (Dianne); mother-in-law Shirley Bellefontaine; brothers-in-law Darrel (Mary), Paul (Nancy), Larry (Marlene), Allan (Wanda), Pierre (Valerie), Vincent (Laura); sisters-in-law Joanne (Dave), Sandra (Bruce), Michelle (Jim); and many, many extended family members and friends.

Beside his parents, Bill was also predeceased by his son Shawn (1996) and father-in-law Nelson Bellefontaine (2019).

This page is not long enough to list all of Bill’s qualities, but everyone who knew him knows that he was an all-around genuine, great man.  He will be missed by family and all who knew and loved him.  Gone but not forgotten, forever in our hearts.

There will be no visitation by request.  Graveside service and burial to be held at St. Anslem’s Cemetery, West Chezzetook on Thursday, Dec 3, 2020 at 1:00 pm, with Deacon Howard Oehmen officiating.  Mask required, social distancing for Covid-19.  Memorial Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
