Cathy and I would like to express our sincere sympathy to Jane, Susan, Nancy, Paul, Burke and family on the death of David. It is hard for me to believe that he is gone as it must be for you as he was a strong and steadfast person in my life who was quiet but generous with sharing logical, useful and well thought out advice and willing to always help. I met David in 1971 when he knocked on the door of our newly acquired home on Helene Avenue inviting me to join the Scouting Movement; the rest is history. He became more of a mentor to me in the early years where I learned more than the scouts. To say he enjoyed the outdoors is an understatement, I enjoyed many outdoor endeavours with him scouting, canoeing, fishing, hunting, swimming lessons and helping others as well as evenings in the woods having vigorous discussions, cards and a wee refreshment. He excelled in his professional and business endeavours and was well thought of and respected by all who knew him. He will be missed by all his scouting friends in the SIRS group but never forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Jane, and the whole family at this time of grieving.

Please accept my sympathy on your family's loss. During my years working at Alderney Consultants, Dave, along with Tom and Stan provided everyday mentorship to what was a great group of young and, at least in my case, still wet behind the ears surveyors, engineers and technicians. The lessons learned there have carried me through my own career and I am sure it did for many others as well.

I am sorry to hear about Dave's passing. Dave was a great man. I worked at Alderney Consultants for 12 year in the 70's and 80's. I have fond memories of Dave and family. I remember attending the Christmas parties, where I met his wife Jane. I also remember his daughter, Susan, who worked at the company during that time. Dave was a good boss. I would very much like to attend the Celebration of Life at a later date if COVID restrictions allow. Please know my thoughts are with you all!

I am sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Cushing who was my Woodlawn Scouter. He took us camping and hiking. Then he took us to the 1981 Canadian Jamboree in Kananaskis Country, Alberta. As a Beaver Scouter myself now, I appreciate the hard work he did to help create some great memories for me and the other Scouts. Thank you Mr. Cushing.

I had the pleasure of working with Dave at Paul Wendt's in the summer of 1964. It was my first engineering related job. Dave was always patient and helpful, and I remembered that and always tried to follow his example whenever the opportunity arose to work with students and young graduate engineers. My condolences to his family and friends.
