Mona:
Heartfelt sympathy to you and your family on John's passing. One of our enduring memory of John was his daily visit to collect fresh milk from the farm when he would return home, apparently happy, holding his precious cargo. Although we moved from Port Williams over fifteen years ago we shall remember John as a good and helpful neighbour. David and Vicky Stiles

He lived across from us Stiles in the port, Went up to Newcombes farm to get his milk when we we were growing up in 70’s and 80’s. He was what I think of when I think of a valley person. A great character and neighbour as a kid. RIP John Regan.

Mona, please accept our sincere condolences. Growing up next door to John was an experience. I can remember many trips to the city with him when he was working for Millets, we would drive down North St to check out the progress on the MacDonald bridge. That was a few years ago. He was a great friend and will be missed.

Valuable,
Sorry for your Dad's passing. I wish I could have spoken with him on Port History. I found artifacts in the Port as well on the Burbidge property Dad had on Kars Street and would be interesting to know the correlation of the expulsion of the Acadians with the house history .Sympathies from the Lang family.

To the Regan Family, first of all thank you for the history.
I remember John coming to our house often and of my Father taking us to the Regan farm. John was one of a kind and a valued member of Port Williams. In 1963, I was married and one day I was to stop at the big tree at the end of High Street to meet his father, as he gave me my wedding present. Rest In Peace, John, we all thank you for a job well done. Mona and Family, the daughters of Phillip Jess will hold you in our prayers.

Dear Mrs.Regan and Family,
I remember Mr. Regan well. His hearty laugh and friendly smile, and how I would hear his booming voice in the orchards telling stories to Dad and Jim as he picked apples. He was such a good friend to Dad and a help on the farm as well. I wonder if he used to skate with us at Uncle Allen's pond? I seem to remember him there.
I am so happy your Father had such a long life with his family. It seems like Dad has been gone so long. We too were able to keep Dad home with us until the end. You will always proudly carry memories of this time with your Dad.
I am thinking of each of you. Your words in his obituary were evidence of your love for Mr. Regan.
In Friendship, Liz.

What a wonderful tribute to a wonderful man, who was also a great husband, father, neighbor, friend and many other things to those who were fortunate to know him, as I was, as were my family. I will remember his teasing, his laughter, his garden, his stories and more. Though I knew he was a lifelong resident or Port Williams there was so much in his obituary that I didn't know and I thank you for sharing. The Port has certainly lost a historian with his passing!
The path between our houses was well travelled and thiose memories will last forever. The morning after Dad died, the doorbell rang. There was John, holding something yummy that Mona had baked. His first words were, "Don's gone." It was a simple, heartfilled truth. I will always remember that moment. Now it's my turn to say "John's gone." But his memory will live on in our hearts and minds. If everyone could be as lucky to have a John Regan in their lives!
I feel a sense of peace that he is now able to share his stories to those who have gone before him and are waiting for him.
Sending lots of love and hugs to you all, You fulfilled his wishes of remaining in his home until his last breath......that is certainly true love!
Sincerely, Janet (Newcombe) Anderson
