I have seen all the aspects of Peter as a person that have been spoken of so far. His love of music certainly, his affinity for the sea, and his dynamic personality. The thing that stands out in my mind though was his love of children. I remember him pointing at this beautiful child of his one time. (She was maybe 3, dirty faced, crying, in need of a change in the worst way.), and saying proudly “That’s our future right there”! He meant it wholeheartedly. He was proud to be their father, uncle, mentor and friend. He was no pushover. He had his rules, and he seldom bent them, but he was proud of them all, and always spoke of them with love and respect. I think that’s the part of him that will be missed the most. The world needs more folks like that. They are a gift. My condolences to all who will miss him.
