Obituary of Lenora Rose Harper

Lenora Rose Harper (née Miner), of Bishopville, passed away in her home on April 14, 2023, at the age of 84. Lenora was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and a great-grandmother. She was born in Bishopville to the late Bret and Pearl (née Brown) Miner and moved to Calgary, Alberta, as a young woman, where she met her husband Hazen Harper and lovingly raised her family.

Lenora will be remembered for her kind heart, loving nature, and strong will. Her devotion to her friends and family was second to none. She lived a full life and seized every opportunity to play a game of cards, attend live music, and to visit with her family and friends. Her laughter, welcoming smile, sound advice (and even her stubbornness) will be greatly missed by all.

Lenora is survived by four children, Kevin (Patsy) Harper, Garth Harper, Karen Lewichew, Kirk Harper; five grandchildren, Michelle, Kandis, Karleah (Sean), Cody, Amber; four great-grandchildren, Kaeleb, Rebekah, Nikolai, Nikita; and two of her sisters, Pearl Myles, and Evelyn Belanger. Her memory will also live on through countless extended family and friends across the country.

In addition to her parents, Lenora was predeceased by her husband, Hazen Harper; and siblings, John “Jack” Miner, Marie Rose, Roy Miner, Thelma Clowry, Mary Frank, Freeman “Tom” Miner, Lova Morine, Garth “Jake’ Miner.

Lenora’s family, wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you, to her neighbors, family, and close friends, for their support during this difficult time.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Bishopville Cemetery on April 28, 2023, at 1:00 pm, followed by a reception in the Bishopville Schoolhouse across the street. In honour of Lenora’s memory, light a fire or gather with your loved ones for a game of cards.
