Obituary of Muriel Agnes Marriott

Muriel Agnes Marriott, age 95, of Halifax, passed away on October 5, 2023, in Haliburton Place, Windsor.  Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Winnifred Russell. 

Muriel was a graduate of Miss Murphy’s Business College and was employed at the Victoria General Hospital, Maintenance Department.  She enjoyed swimming, knitting, church choir, and word search puzzles.  She was a faithful member of St. John’s Anglican Church and received an award for 50 years of dedication to the church choir. 

Muriel took great pride in bringing up her five children as a single parent.  She also had the great pleasure in spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Muriel is remembered by her children, Bruce (Carolyn Conrad), Cindy Jussup (Bernard), Glenn (Bev), and Kathy (Rick) Lunn; daughter-in-law, Anne Marriott; grandchildren, Tracy, Trevor, Chrissy, Chad, Peter, Amy, Matthew, and Katie; great-grandchildren, Jenna, Jayden, Kyle, Kevin, Isabelle, Emma, Trigg, Dominick, Trey, Carter, Dallas, Nash, and Zayne; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Muriel was predeceased by son, Jeffrey; and sisters, Gladys and Dorothy. 

The family would like to thank the staff of Haliburton Place for the care and dedication to our mother for the last three years.

A Service will be held on Wednesday October 11, 2023, at 11:00 am, in the St. John’s Anglican Church, 2187 Larry Uteck Blvd, Bedford; Rev. Randy Townsend officiating. A reception will follow in the Church.  A private family interment at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
