Obituary of Mary-Lou Dawn Conrad
Mary Lou Dawn Conrad, 62 of Wolfville, passed away peacefully at home on November 29, 2024. Born in Wolfville, Mary Lou was a daughter of the late Donald Frank Conrad and the late Ruth Marguerite (Prall) Conrad.
Mary Lou loved growing up on the family farm. She loved everything about it (except for the gross jobs). In early years she was a member of 4-H light horse program which brought many great experiences and educational opportunities. She loved spending time with family and friends, travelling, horses, nature, swimming, music, and playing softball in Wolfville for many years. Mary Lou enjoyed watching her son in his various endeavours and helping within some of those organizations, whether it be swimming, dirt bike racing, baseball, or hockey. It was all very exciting!
In more recent years it had been a joy to watch the grandboys at whatever antics they'd be involved with. Mary Lou loved spending time with them. She and Murray enjoyed various road trips, off-road adventures and time by the Halfway River. Mary Lou was pleased to have a career at the Acadia University Library for 30 years. She really enjoyed working with many talented and creative people on a vast array of projects. After retirement she worked part-time at Winners, New Minas and thoroughly enjoyed the people there.
Mary Lou is survived by her much-loved partner, Murray Martin; son, Brandon (Cassandra) Conrad of Wolfville and grandsons, Keegan, Michael and Bradley; brother, Art (Lisa) of Baxter's Harbour; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was predeceased by her brother, Kevin.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service by request but an ask to look for the good in people, situations and events, to stay positive, and to do something to put a smile on someone's face :). Donations in memory may be made to the ALS Society of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
