Mary Elizabeth Edgar passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2025, with her daughter Kristie by her side. Born in Windsor, she was the beloved only child of Muriel (Sivwright) and Daniel J. Russell.

Mary Elizabeth received her education at Edgehill School for Girls and Acadia University. She lived a life enriched by curiosity and exploration, traveling the world and pursuing lifelong learning with elegance and independence.

She was the devoted wife of Eric G. Edgar (d. 2014), a loving mother to Kristie (Barry Misener) and Dan Edgar (Donalda), and a cherished grandmother to Jeff, Nick, and Stephanie Misener, as well as Gordon, Robert, and John Edgar and their spouses. Her legacy extended to her role as a doting great-grandmother and a dear friend to many.

As per her wishes, no formal service will be held. The family will gather this summer, Mary Elizabeth’s favourite season, to scatter her ashes in a private celebration of her life.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Shearwater Aviation Museum, reflecting her appreciation for history and adventure. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
